I'll be headed out to Bend, TX again this Friday to hopefully catch some more females. I'm guessing the water has had time to clear up since last Sunday. I'll post a report Sunday after I catch my limit wink

FYI, Colorado Bend SP is closed for any access due to capacity as of 12:30 Friday. Expected to open up after 2 but were turning around and heading back to Brownwood. Lady at the gate said the fishing is picking up some after the muddy water starting to clear up but no where near what it was before the river came up. When we drove back across it still looked murky. This is what she park police lady told us but she wasnt fishing just going by what people told her.

Hoping Pecan Bayou has some whites running. When we drove across that bridge last night at almost midnight we couldnt see the color but it was reported to have been cleared up back to normal which is never very clear.

For anyone down here at the Bend and fishing, I hope the lady was Wrong!!!

I drove up yesterday. Arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon, fished until 6:30. Caught 16, but only half were keepers, and only one of those was a big female. A fly rodder fishing nearby had twenty on his stringer, but he had been there since dawn. Almost all of his were males as well. I think the river needs to drop at least a few more inches.

Well between the 5 of us fishing this weekend we sure did pretty good. Limits were caught daily between us. Water was still brown but they were biting in the quicker moving currents throughout the entire day.

Has anyone had any luck in the last few days? Was contemplating one more trip but wanted to see if there has been any recent action.

I started catching them about the third week of February. Thinking this year we will start a few weeks earlier. Anyone have success early in February -- maybe the first week?
