I just realized I should have posted my request here vs the open water section.

Taking the fam to Jackson Hole in Aug. does anyone have any guide recommendations? Float vs wading.... any insight would be appreciated. This is my first trip up there. Thanks.

There are several very good fly shops on the square that have guides. I don't think you can go wrong. Talk to the shop owners who live there, one of them offered to take me just for grins. There is an Orvis shop there also. GTS (google that stuff) BTW, there are few walk in spot on the river south of town laugh

When we go to Yellowstone/JH.I camp at Flagg Ranch at the south entrance to Yellowstone. The Snake R. runs there and good access to the public. Unless you want someone to tie on your flys and net your fish,,,,, no guide needed. If you wanna float hire a guide. GLuck

Check the regs for the rivers for limitations on tackle.
Lots of great guides and just good advise if no guide wanted. The shops are willing to talk fishing , just go in and ask. Especially of you buy a nice fly rod.
Grizz in the forest so be careful, well they are everywhere except in town.

Jackson will be nice in August, take a jacket.

I lived and guided there for a while after college. I'd be happy to give you some recommendations. Shoot me a message if I can help.
