Finally got a day off on Friday and looking forward to breaking in the new yak. Anyone doing any good up in the creeks? I plan on hitting up some Lake Lewisville feeder creeks.

I can't say for sure, but I imagine that the recent rain will shut down the creeks for a week or two???

If it does, I would focus my time on feeder creek coves with a relatively deep channel. If my theory holds water (pun intended) you might find some late spawners what are staging before a push up stream?

Rowlett creek is good. Mostly bankers. Big rain expected Wednesday. Hope to bring in the hybrids. Caught 3 hybrids last trip with a bunch of smallish sandbass

I've been hitting Rowlett Creek almost every week. It really does take about 9 days for the water to clear up after a rain, though. I haven't seen another kayak out while I've been and I always go early like 7am-Noon. I still catch a few when it's murky, but it can be discouraging. I've heard people catching sandies/hybrids in there already on the Bank Fishing thread, but I've yet to catch anything other than Crappie/Catfish. Just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I started hitting them right after the big rain at the end of February. Tore them up through March and stopped going so I could hit up some lakes this month. Its's a small window for when they are thick in the creeks. Those are fun times and we don't want to miss it so we start going early and scouting until they move in. One day there will nothing and the next you can't drop a hook without a bite. Same goes for when it's over. One day it's on and the next nothing. Every year is different but It's getting kind of late in the season so I'm not sure if much is happening. I was thinking of going back after this rain to see if another wave will move in.

Rowlett creek u need to be further up the creek. Towards fire wheel bridge. Fish go as far as they can go upstream to spawn. Most bank it at rowlett creek. After this rain it will be fine by the weekend. Getting near the end of run though

Use a tiny fluke on a 1/8 jig head or 1/8 chartreuse roostertail.

Yup just as the hybrids started moving up into the creek I fish. Rain comes and floods the creek. lol hopefully it pushes them further up.

Friday I will hitting up Twak to chase the hybrids and stripers. I'll be launching from Holiday and head towards the dam. First time fishing on a yak. It's gonna be interesing.

I don't know about Livescope. It costs more than my kayak itself lol.

Cost aside, I would install a livescope if it wasn't so "spread out". Meaning, I don't like that it has a huge inline computer that goes along with the display. I'll wait on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation that has a fully integrated display. I like simple and compact smile

There were about 70 cars on Rowlett creek at firewheel bridge last week.
