This should be our last push here on Pines, after this FULL moon, water temp has been in the low 70's for the last week.

Not over, crappie spawn for several weeks. Not all go at one time. Late April now and I caught a limit walking the bank this morning in 3' or less. Cold north wind blowing, bluebird sky and they bit like crazy for a couple of hours. Also caught a 7# and a 5# bass.

Best day this year for me.

looks like the livescope is proving something ive been saying for many years but most just refuse to believe.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I can respectfully tell you,, the moon phase has nothing to do with the spawn. the myth that the female crappie move in to "drop thier cargo" like some kind of B52 nightime raid is a longstanding myth. this has been "the explaination " as to why folks couldnt catch big females.. an excuse.. but the real reason is the mature females are spawning in deeper water.

Based on what I saw yesterday on Lewisville, I think Black Crappie are done and White Crappie are still getting it on. Just my oppinion.
