So I have this rod, it is a "Castaway medium action spinning" rod. The number on it CTX70PMS.
My research indicates that it is a popping rod? What is a popping rod? Does the fact that it is a popping rod mean I cannot use it as a regular old soft plastic bank fishing rod? (of course i know I CAN use it for one, in fact I've caught a few on it, but they haven't felt like "good" catches of you know what I mean. I cant feel bites very well).
The rod doesn't say what the action is, it is medium power but I don't know what the action is, anyone know? Or can help me?
Should I sell it and get something a little more general purpose? As a bank fisher I need a few (3 or so) "all arounders". I can't really carry much more than that.

Like the name implies, Cast away my friend, maybe not ideal for soft plastics but should be good for other lures like top waters or spinner baits or small cranks.
Experiment with different Reel size and line weight to see what fits it best. I'd keep and use it.
Can never have too many. Good luck.
Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!

Its a saltwater rod, designed to use with popping corks for trout and redfish is my guess. Those rods have a slow taper usually which is exactly opposite of what you want when your t-rig fishing

I have a similar rod from Allstar
It’s great for small treble hooked moving baits Small topwaters, jerkbaits, small squarebills and small light cranks like the Shad rap

I have a castaway popping rod I got at the classic a couple years ago. If it's anything like mine it should fling crank baits and rattle traps, but not much else... I'd keep it for the coast if nothing else.

Thanks gentle men, it sounds like I may need to sell it and get something a little more general purpose. I love the idea of having specialized rods and what not, but as a bank fisher I have to travel light. Good education though. Thanks!
