It has been a tough year for Speckled Trout Fishing on the Gulf Coast these last 2 years. Hopefully the Trout are back to their historic behaviors. With storm fronts from the North, headed to the Warm air from the Gulf, made a weathermans job look like a real job. Hugging the bank, fishing protected water, made for some good old Speckled Trout fishing. The Trout outnumbered all the fish in quality and quantity. Caught several Redfish, Black Drum, and just a couple of Small Trout. Live Shrimp under a popping cork did best. Fishing in 2-3 of water, over mud and shell. Sabine Lake is pretty much 98% mud and shell. Dont let a little bad weather stop you from some really good fishing. Just be aware of what is coming and going. Outgoing tide helped a lot.
