Thanks Wayne I'm going to go back to default settings before I do anything and see if that helps. I'm pretty good at pushing the wrong buttons

Going back to default setting fixed it

Finally got the boat back on the water for a shakedown yesterday after 18 months. I have G1 helix 10 KVD with SI Y cabled to a shoot through lowrance 2D thru-hull transducer. The Helix would not display any depth reading until I dropped the terrova (which is linked to the Helix) in the water.

Does the terrova iPliot send depth data to the Helix through the Ethernet cable?

The Lowrance 2D transducer is 15 years old. Do they wear out

That makes no sense. Do you have another Humminbird unit connected to the Minnkota US2 transducer?

iPilot has nothing to do with sonar, that is GPS.

Explain your entire setup.

I do not have another Humminbird connected to the MinnKota US2. I have an external Lowrance DI transducer on the trolling motor and ran the cable up the shaft and to an Elite 7 that I use on the bow.

I have a Helix 10 SI KVD at the console, installed the SI transducer on the stern and ran it and the existing Lowrance 2D thru-hull transducer (using a Motorguide Sonar Adapter - Lowrance to Humminbird) to the Helix 10 with an AS-SIDB-Y cable.

Terrova with iPilot connected to the Helix the Ethernet adapter cable.

The whole setup worked time last time I had the boat out more than a year ago.

Took the boat out for the first time in over a year and ran it yesterday. No 2D sonar on the Helix for over 1/2 hour.

Stopped and put the Terrova down in the water, the Lowrance showed the depth immediately, then about 5 minutes later the Helix started showing the depth.

I agree it doesn't make sense, that'w why I was wondering if US2 data was sent via the Ethernet cable (I couldn't find an answer in the manual). I also wonder if the 2D transducer in the hull could be bad and needs replaced.

It is physically impossible to get US2 sonar data directly via Ethernet. You can share the US2 sonar if it is connected to another Humminbird unit using Ethernet.

You may have a weak shoot-thru, loose or faulty Y cable, or the shoot-thru has partially come loose.

Disconnect the Y cable from both transducers and connect the SI transducer directly to the display--check for the depth reading.
Do the same with the shoot-thru.
That should let you know what part is faulty.

What is the rumor on HB and panotix like technology? If they get it, will likely work on ONIX?

Using the Humminbird ethernet, can I control an iPilot through a Gen 1 Helix at both the bow and the console?

2004 SX190, should the SI transducer be on the transom or under it by the drain and live well inlets?

Yes, as long as you have the I pilot link and the 5 port Ethernet switch you can connect all three.

Where it is now is fine as long as you are not expecting to get 2d readings while on plane. The 2 most important things are that the transducer has a clear view right and left and is level.

Personaly, I would have mounted it where the red square is so you have sonar at all times.

I have the same issue. Where the red square is the ducer would hit the cross member on the trailer.Could move boat back on the trailer. But what would that do to trailer weight or tung weight? Would it be good for the transom to hang over the trailer bunk boards?

Thank you, 44Diesel and Saltydawg88, I think I'll move it and see what happens next.

Wouldn't hit the cross member, the bunks are higher than that and the cross member is not that close to the boat when loading or unloading; the boat floats above it.
