They might make it down to waco but most of the striper I catch down there are hybirds and therefore probably out of lake waco. From my kayaking experience the closer you get to whitney dam the non hybrid striper population goes up. By the time you get down to Marlin I've caught none hybrid or pure there. I've always needed current for them to bite also, once you get into areas on the river that are slack water either they just aren't there or are tough to get to bite not really sure which.

There used to be a guide on here who made a living off catching big stripers on the Brazos, which I always assumed was below Lake Whitney. Couldve been north too. That said, ive never had any kind of success and it doesnt seem like there is quite the concentration near the dam like at Texoma.

Ive seen some big stripers caught below the dam on gizzard shad and top water bates. Usually best after they stop letting water out
