I'd like to hear one again. Very unlikely to ever happen for me though.

I grew up as an Air Force kid. When the jets scrambled it woke you up no matter how sound one slept. The guess was drill or the real thing. When I was fortunate enough to hunt in South Texas jets often flew over very close to the ground it was surprising how fast they came and went. I hunted a ranch in Maverick County that one area was littered with .50 cal casings and spent bullets. Always wondered if was a sanctioned range or just a free for all back in the day.

I remember seeing my first Military type plane, I was squirrel hunting in Minnesota and saw one heading north to Canada, believe it was 1940 or 1941.

Granted I was a little kid, but I never remembered hearing them till we moved to Nocona in 91. Not sure how long after that they lasted, but I remember (2) glass solid glass windows at my dad's office, probably 4'x10', both cracking top to bottom after a big one, they seemed to stop after that.

The last ones that I heard were several years ago. I was camping in the high desert in Utah. Apparently I was in an area where the fly boys would play war games. Lots of contrails and sonic booms.

Yep, my grandparents had a house on Lake Livingston and fighter jets would come by and run simulated bombing runs on the bridge by Galloway's marina.

Grew up in Belton close to Ft. Hood out by Lake Belton . Happened all the time . Then when they shoot off the tanks it would shake the ground !

Back in the 60's San Antonio was ground zero for a nuke attack back then with all the military bases, and sonic booms were common. Back when I was in high school an ammo bunker blew up at Lackland Medina Base complex, and it shook the ground for miles and did some damage even with a mushroom cloud. I remember thinking as well as everyone else that was the end of us. Thank you to the OP for reminding me of a very stressful time in my life!
Just one more cast!
