Maybe one of you ol timers can tell me what lure this. I found it in an old 1949 Spartan trailer I bought up at PK a bunch of years ago. Can't remember what color paint was on it. [Linked Image]

Hey Sumfish, went to true-tried-tested lure collector & friend Layne Wilkerson with this one. Here's his response:

"Shakespeare, I think it is an uncataloged Swimming Mouse in an unusual pattern called Shazam. Age and origin unknown. It measures 3 3/8. page 589 in Carl F. Luckey 6th edition.
Layne [bigon] NFLCC. my guess."

Thanks GLBoutdoors. Just figured it was an old lure with a name unbeknownst to me. I hate the paint was compromised by plastic worms and age, no telling how long it was in the drawer with them. According to Gabby @antiqueluresdotcom [Linked Image] This picture is of one I found on eBay
