I have a question concerning being new to the tournament scene. Do you always go to weigh in no matter what? Do you take that walk, stand in line and only weigh just one fish after a day of competition?

If weights or place accumulates for the year or season to make you eligible for a championship/title, then yes. If it is just a jackpot deal, then no----dump them and go stand around and talk about the 7 pounder that broke you off with the rest of the losers.

FYI-- alway a good idea to let whomever is put on the tournament know even if you dont have any fish or not bothering to weigh what you do have, so he is not wondering about your safety.

We weigh in always in our club just for aoy points. In champs or something like that, if I'm not mid pack or better I'm not going up there. That usually means 15 or better.

always take it to weigh in. I fished a tournament and caught only 1 fish. Told my partner that we would just let it go and leave. He said NO weigh it in. Only one other team caught a fish and we came in second place.

If I take 12 strokes to finish a par 4 Im going to hear my ball drop in the hole. Same as weighing in that one fish to justify your fishing for that day.

I know what I have to the 100th when Im done. I usually check in and see what it takes to get paid. If Im in the money, Ill bag and drag. If Im not, I turn em loose. No need in making the fishes lives any worse that I already made them. Lol. I dont have any desire to show off a 3 pound bag. Or one fish for 21/2.

Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Hard to hold a bag of fish and a beer. Get rid of the fish as soon as you can(out of the money).

Depends on the tournament.

In the trail I'm fishing, only time I won't show up is if we blank. One fish can add up in points in those super tough tournaments.

If it's a jackpot or one-time tournament, I will weigh em if I plan on checking out the weigh in anyways. But if I'm ready to get back home then I'll just chunk em. Only regretted it once so far lol.

I weigh them every time. My 10% pro staff discount depends on it.
