Fishing has gotten off to a great spring start. Myself,Rick aka Catyakker,and Steve have fished Hill Country rivers and South Texas Creeks. Plenty of nice Rios,Tilapia,and Sunfish are being caught. Rick was able to catch a super nice Redear 10" in length and well over a pound. The fish was caught on the Hondo Creek and will be submitted for the Hondo Creek,Catch&Release Redear Record. Fish are starting to get active ahead of the spawn. Fish are in 6 to 10 feet of water laying in weed and Hydrilla beds. Bottom,drop shot,and float techniques were used. Worms was the bait. Most fish were released and some were kept for the dinner table. Catching some super nice early springtime fish. It just don't get any better!

Wow...now that's an impressive stringer...Did u catch the tilapia on worms as well ?

Thanks a bunch Banker. I understand our next water body records will come out of the Rio Grande River. Can't hardly wait. (Course now we'll have to hire us some locals to show us the way.)

Thanks Gar 1970. It was actually my first record for 2019. But with my mentor's guidance, and this beautiful big fish weather, I will be fishing hard for maybe a few more this year.
