I should have known better but went anyway. Caught only small ones, on lizards, flukes, flat sided square bill, and plastic worms. Only had one fish pull drag on swimbait and it came off quick. Lost a lot of fish today as they were swiping at the bait a lot. Saw one good fish slowly swim up under my spinner bait as I was pulling it out of the water and just sunk back down.

Easiest way to get bit was to paddle over the mats and fish any hole you could find in the vegetation. It was the only water I could find that I had all to myself.

Man I love fishing Fork. You had the right idea of fishing in the spots the PB's couldn't get too!

Where is a good put-in spot for a Lake Fork first timer and a few others fishing from Kayaks? I have some friends camping at Lake Fork Ranch this weekend and i was thinking about driving out there Saturday morning and meeting up with them to do some fishing. Looks like there could be access over there but not sure. Is this a good area of the lake to fish and avoid the power boats? I know that it is a massive lake. Any advice appreciated.

From the pictures of Lake Fork Ranch website, it look fishy and it's on the water. There's a small arm that you'll drive over to get the place your staying that i'm sure will have fish in it.

Try Hideaway Harbor on Little Caney. Always one of my favorite places to see nature at its best.
