Anyone ever do any fishing out on the Meridian State Park lake? If so what's it good for and what some good lures/baits to try?

Meridian State park lake was one of the 3 lakes the TPWD identified to grow a world record largemouth bass. I read one report that they actually shocked up a bass over 19 lbs.

I kayak fished it once last summer. It is a very small lake which was great for kayak fishing. I was personally using a fly rod so I can't be of much help on lure selection. I caught 3 or 4 catfish and a couple bass. Then I spotted bluegill feeding on some real small flies on the surface. I ended up catching them on almost every cast for an hour or so.

That's interesting... believe it or not I use a spinning rod with a top water frog with a fluorocarbon leader with a couple woolyboogers and it works pretty well! I'm going to go try it in the morning so glad to hear they hit on the flies so we'll see what happens!

I didn't know this, but found there are 6 lakes: Mill Creek, Pinkston, Meridian State Park Lake, Raven, Purtis Creek State Park Lake and Marine Creek (Link). I've only fished Mill Creek, but Marine Creek seems to be kicking out good bass a decade after stocking, so maybe the program is working. Wasn't Lake Naconiche stocked with Sharelunker fingerings?
