Yea. I guess it is doable. Are trails going to require guys bring their own cameras or are they going to spend thousands on them? It is doable though

I see BASS actually becoming the new FLW or second tour.

Just don't see the 5 bass system going away. Some of us don't understand how much the tournament trails don't make. Go pros, refs, and other expenses. Man if you were complaining about paybacks ever, u won't like a more expensive to operate tournament.

My thought is a 360 camera mounted at the back on a light pole.

YEP!

I think a lot of people have ideas on the direction of bass fishing and are overlooking the average bass fans wants and likes. I do not think you will ever trump a live weigh in with your best five fish. I think a lot of the current BPT guys will realize very shortly that they will be replaced by a lot of other excellent sticks and wish they hadnt made their move. Wish all you want but the core of the sport relies on average fishermens like and dislike of what made them a fan to begin with. Ducket or no Ducket this will not change long term. I think BASS and FLW will be fine after the fairy dust settles down. We will have a lot of new faces and quite a few who wished they hadnt pooped in their back pocket

I think you are missing the point that the core enjoyment of the common bass fisherman will not change as a whole over time. They can put all the spin moves on it and it will always be catching the biggest 5 that trumps. Weather it is your local fun tournaments or big bucks tournaments.

I watch fishing derbies to try and learn something. For me MLF's format does that best. Their format more closely replicates what the everyday bass angler deals with going out for a day's fishing on the lake. No multi-day pre-practice and practice days, prior guide trips, inside info, lake tournament history, etc.

I watch to see how they try to solve that day's fishing puzzle.

Have watched and attended a lot of weigh-ins over many years both as fisherman and TV viewer. For me the big derby weigh-ins are pretty boring. Pro pulls his 2 biggest fish out of the bag and waves them around and plugs his sponsors - big whoopie. What do I learn from that? See one slimy green ditch pickle see them all.

I think youre going to be historically wrong at some point.

times change and I'm all for not having to lug 40 gals of water in the live well around to go to a weigh in. It runs down my batteries and makes for a bad hole shot, this has gotta be good for fish survival too. we debated this at the club level for years. I lost the debate because most of the guys wanted to weigh fish.

Youve drank the Ducket cool aid. Sorry for you that bass fishing the way it has been done for many years is not fun any longer. The passion and excitement for catching the five biggest fish in a tournament that got us all into bass fishing cant be replaced.

For weekend tournaments and semi pro tournaments - co-anglers pay entry fees, cameras do not.

As far as technology - cellular service sucks on many or our lakes & rivers - no way weekend & semi-pro can afford implementing "new" technology. There are 100+ tournaments just on Rayburn & Toledo with chity cell service. Not to mention screwed up weighing of fish without another human involved.

The local and weekend trails dont necessarily have to change just because the professional ranks are in a transition. The way everybody talks you would think every single trail out there is moving to the BPT/MLF way of doing things. Maybe they will some day but it will take a while. Personally I think a good mix of both will be the ticket. Watching a live weigh is absolutely exciting but some tournaments are more so than others. BPT/MLF bring another aspect that changes it up and should be embraced. This wouldnt be an issue if BASS would have listened to its anglers and not made empty promises (according to the anglers). The best of the best dont pack up and leave without something being wrong for a while. Anyway I hope they find a way to integrate and give us something great to watch and in the meantime the little trails can keep doing it how they want.

Just because someone likes MLF doesn't mean they drank the Duckett cool aid. Not everyone is set in their ways. I have fished a few tournaments over the last 30+ yrs. To me it's not about the 5 biggest. It's about the competition and winning. I don't care if it's a 1 fish big bass, 5 fish limit or the most fish you can catch.

I run derbies, big ones, that have a weigh in. Not saying it's changing today, it's just changing. Time will tell. And yes, ALL things can be replaced.
