Trolling Motor with "Spot Lock" or Fish Finder with "Livescope?"

This is NOT about the Money. This is about, if you had a choice and you could only have one, which would you choose? Which would be the best Crappie Fishing Tool?

I have neither, but if one day I have the funds. . . I mean if the wife allows me to buy one, which would benefit me the most? After reading Ernest's post, I can see the benefit of learning the habits of crappie. I also know that I would LOVE to set my trolling motor to stay in one spot, rather than me trying to keep us in one spot.

I hope there is some good discussion.

Livescope for sure. I can always anchor if necessary.

Spot lock, caught fish before scope, but when we got that trolling motor it changed everything for me. Fishing over a brush pile in 15-25 mph winds and not have to worry about it sure is nice! My opinion for what its worth!

I'm with friday86. Assuming I have good graphics, I also say Spot Lock because Spot Lock also has autopilot, which is very handy while scouting for crappie and bass fishing.

Disclaimer... I don't have livescope so I don't speak from experience.

Spotlock. Wednesday at Fork I hung one of my high dollar crankbaits on a stump in 12 FOW. Got over it, hit spotlock and I was able to use both hands and use my lure knocker to get it free. Game changer. I am gonna get the livescope for my Garmin as soon as they sell enough of them that the price gets better. Pretty pricey for a retired person.

Subscribe for opinions.

This would make a good poll!

Wow! ! ! Thanks for all the input. I really am leaning for Spot Lock, but after reading Ernest's post, it could see a huge benefit from Livescope.

Both are Game-Changers for sure!

I would have said spotlock before getting the Livescope. I wonder howmany of the spotlock votes actually have or have used livescope.

Yep. . . I was hoping to get the thoughts of those who owned both of them.

I have the ice bundle livescope, put it on the boat and it helps, but does not overcome the advantages of not having to fight the wind. I agree about the learning of the fish behavior, had the same experience as Mr. Paty seeing a fish swim in above my jigs and raise them up to it and catch it. Also how far away they come to inspect the jigs. Cant catch them though if you cant stay over them. TM just makes more days available to fish and more areas of the lake on a particular day. You know what opinions a like and everybody has one. Its all about what makes sense for you and what your plans are.
