That's what I've heard. I think I'll throw back smaller fish from now on. It's a lot easier to deal with on bigger fish and I don't feel like I'm wasting anything. Thanks again

Finally, a great day on the Yegua Thanks for the reports PerksOutdoors and CSSource. Based on those reports I decided to walk in to Newman's today. I walked upstream to my favorite spot. I got to the spot at 9:30. By 10:30 I had already caught 25. I ended up catching 33 in that spot and then decided to work my way back downstream. I caught 5 in the next spot, then 19 in the next spot, but no big females. So I decided to walk down to the low water crossing to a spot I have caught big females in the past. All I caught were more males. I headed back upstream toward the bridge. I fished a couple spots with little luck. Then I found a sweet spot and caught over 20 there before I had to leave at 2:30. In all, I caught 81 white bass today. Most in the 11.5 inch range. A dozen or so over 13 inches. Only a few less than 11 inches. No big females. Water was stained with good current. Great job J-moe!
It was a different world when we were boys and girls....

I'm going to finish up some school work and go to Irwin Bridge this afternoon to scope it out. Anybody else plan to be out there?

Took my son for his first white bass run. Arrived at the creek at Newmans aound 11 after the hike in. Everyone told us to turn back but we persisted and got skunked. A lot of people had 3-4 small ones from the morning and saw a few caught in the afternoon but the water was too fast, muddy and full of floating logs to hang on. Lessons learned...
- Check the rainfall reports from upstream - Find some of the white and chartuese jigs most everyone was using - Never goto Newmans Bottom unless the gate is open
Seems like later in the week should be good with some warmer days, any estimates on when the water will get back to normal??

Thanks for the report bprince. The gate/road to Newman's bottom may never be open again. The little bridge that you walk over when you first come in has been condemned and cost to much to repair. The bridge on the oilfield road is in the same condition.

I was at Irwin this afternoon. The water was fast and muddy. Of all the anglers I talked to, only 4 fish were caught. I walked a good ways downstream and did not have a single bite. Maybe next time!

We will have to keep doing that.

Some times it can a take a week or more for this creek water to clear. It kind a depends on which section of the creek received the rain. Hmmm, it's hard to say. But there should be some really good stringers of fish caught again before this year's spawn is over. The rise of muddy water will always pull a few more hundred if not thousands of white bass back upstream. I wish I lived a little closer to this creek and I could give everyone an update on water conditions, but I don't, so anyone who does go out there, please help keep the rest of us updated on water conditions and share it with us please. Thanks... I was going to go out there today, but due to what I have read on here, it has saved me what could have been a wasted trip. So thank you for the information about the rise of muddy water, it is greatly appreciated.

Glad yall have been tearing up the white bass! I havent made it into the creeks this year but I did go out to the main lake yesterday to run the boat and do some fishing. Tried the crappie with no luck. Switched gears to catfish and only caught 6. Slow day on the water but it was still great being out there. Any other reports from the lake?

I took the boat for a short spin today and tried for whites with no luck. I was only able to fish for about 1.5 hours because there is water getting into my boat somehow. I heard water sloshing in the rigging tube under the console and some seeping up around it, so I decided to head back to the ramp.
