This is correct. Marinating a good steak will get you a ticket to the underworld.

I don't usually marinate steak but I do know a couple people that like to marinate it in Dr Pepper.

Lowery's season salt and pepper, let it sit in the fridge for1.5 hours.

This!

I don't let mine sit on a rack in the fridge for five days though, usually I'll salt/pepper/garlic powder then vacuum seal them, then in the fridge for a day or two. Let them come to room temperature before grilling.

Cavenadars Greek seasoning, and a little whirchester sauce. Rub it in and let it sit until room temp. Grill to Medium Rare.

Exactly the way I've done any steak for 30 years.

Been using the Allegro Original for years. Nothing better so far. Just add coarse ground pepper and salt. Hot grill, 3 min/side.

Marinating a steak is done using a liquid high in salt content. This is so it can break down the fibers and result in a more tender cut of meat. If you start with a quality cut of meat there's no need to marinate a steak. You can rub some marinade on it to get the flavor of the marinade on the meat if that's what you like but the flavor of the marinade will not penetrate the meat it will just stay on the surface. Start with a quality cut of meat (Angus Prime, Prime or Wagyu) and don't overcook it and I've found I don't need to use marinade on steaks.

You get out of it what you put into it!
