To those of you that use humminbirds and an ultrex, do you have a lakemaster card? Is it worth the 125 bucks? What do I actually gain? Thanks!

You gain the ability to follow contours. I don't use that but I definitely think the lake master is worth it. Just for my hummingbird use I like the ability to highlight depth ranges and shallow water.

You need the Ultrex I-pilot link to use the follow the contour feature. Is it only with the Ultrex? Or any I-pilot Link?

You need the Ultrex I-pilot link to use the follow the contour feature. Is it only with the Ultrex? Or any I-pilot Link? I-Pilot Link is the name of the feature. It's on the Ultrex, Ulterra, and Terrova. I-Pilot is the name given to all the GPS features of the TM (spot lock, auto pilot, etc.) and "Link" means that it hooks up to the Humminbird.

I use both navionics and lakemaster. Navionics seems to be better detailed on the lakes I fish. If I am using the navionics card I will use the auto pilot mode. With the link auto pilot I can line my boat up on a contour or a certain heading and the boat will travel along that path. The good thing about the I pilot link is that when you engage the auto pilot there will be a black/ white checkered course projection line that the boat will follow. Being able to view this projection line on the unit you can set the course projection line on the contour just by turning the head of the trolling motor till the course line lines up how you want it.

I have the Terrova with Link and was thinking about buying the Lakemaster card.

Lakemaster works better with Humminbirds and Navionics card is for Lowrance graphs. Undoubtedly, the Lakemaster card is worth its weight in gold if you want better, more defined, detailed maps.

Plus with the Lakemaster card you have the water level offset feature, which is handy in the summer when some lakes are down. I like the depth range highlight feature as well. When you're catching them at a certain depth, you can highlight that depth on the whole map and sometimes that can lead you to a good area.

Whats the difference between Lakemaster Plus and SmartStrike? I too need a card for my bow depth finder.

Lakemaster works better with Humminbirds and Navionics card is for Lowrance graphs. Navionics cards also work with Humminbirds... I have a couple of them.
