Hey everyone its finally that time of year to go hit the rivers and do some white bass fishing. I will be headed out around Colorado Bend State Park this weekend and was just trying to get an idea on the run so far. Anyone with pictures or Intel on how the run is currently going please share!

Welcome to the forum, Nikhubb.

I'm sure if you use a larger font next time, someone will give a report, grin

Joking. I don't see a lot of reports come through from this place, but I know from experience the fish are probably there. Good luck.

Welcome aboard Nikhubb. Love it out there at the Bend. Fish at night if you can. Much better results. Run has been going on for a few weeks now, might be close to finishing up.

The weather there has been stop and go for the run. That said, Ive heard of whites being caught all the way into May in past years.

The fish are biting. Even catching quite a few crappie.
If you are planning on going to the state park you better have reservations or get there extremely early. They have had the gates closed to anyone that doesn't have a reservation.

This weekend will be really busy with spring breaks happening.

Keep an eye on the LCRA Hydromet. Up river mustve had some good rains because in Goldthwait, it jumped to 1600 cfs, meaning the water has to go somewhere, and its rising now at the park. Which sucks, as I have camping reservations for tomorrow. If the water rises, the fishing will be gone until the water gets back down. Any others watching this too?

1600CFS isn't that much and won't last long. I wouldn't worry about it.

I was up there at the Bend a few weeks ago (during the week) and there were several boats. Caught some nice ones up there but not near the numbers as other years. Maybe they are later this year...

Running 2100 cfs but slowly dropping. Will probably be tomorrow when the water is back to normal, but I'm sure this swift water might've sent the whites back to main lake? Either way, I'm fixing to head out there for the weekend, hoping I will be able to drop my yak in the water.

I'll be heading down tomorrow until next Thursday. If they got knocked down a bit, I hope they jump back up quickly!
Weather isn't supposed to be great but it will be nice being out there.

The run has barely even started. The weather has been keeping the big waves of fish away. As soon as we get some steady warm weather, it will be on. Warm spring rains will get em going.

I went for a few hours this afternoon. Water was high and muddy, all the rocks and islands were underwater. I didnt catch anything, and I didnt see any caught by anyone else, either. That big rain Tuesday night no doubt responsible, Id wait a couple more days at least, to give it time to clear up
