does anyone fish cooper for crappie or catfish any, not looking for honey holes , looking for people who go out to cooper often to meet and share stories

We're going to take the new RV to the South Sulphur park for camping. We have reservations to camp this Sunday and Monday, however I can't double tow the boat to the lake. Is there anywhere we can catch crappie or sand bass from the bank, or should I plan on another trip to get the boat? I haven't heard of anyone catching either species, is it even worth taking the boat now? I think we may take the RV out there this afternoon and camp for a couple of days.

Want to go tomorrow after work. The current release after the last weekend rain was 1300 cfs, wondering a good location to fish blow the cooper dam, only been there a few times?
