We launched across the highway from Bass Pro and when we got back to the ramp this was waiting on us. Praying that the guy is ok. Police officer said this occurred last night when the guy forgot to put it in park. Thank God we didnt hit the truck when we launched the boat this morning. As for the fishing, highest water temp we saw was 55.5, and biggest bass waas 6.3.

Prepare for the future-it will be here tomorrow. Personal Best Large Mouth Bass 9 lbs. 12 oz 5/13/19. Herb Stein, who famously reminded us that “if something can’t go on forever, it will stop.”

I did that back in '93 I think it was. Just set the em brake in a standard pickup and didn't put it in gear. I ran the boat up on the trailer and left it throttled, went and winched up the nose, came back and throttled down, shut off eng and started tilting up the motor. I was looking back at the motor while tilting it up and didn't notice that when I throttled the boat down the truck had started rolling back. Suddenly I felt like the boat was moving and looked up and half the bed of the truck was already in the water up to the wheel wells. By the time I ran up thru the boat and jumped in the bed then climbed around thru the door of the truck n into the seat the gas pedal was under water. I managed to get it started but when I put it in gear and hit the gas it rev'd but never moved. That's when I looked back and saw the nose of the boat being pulled way down in the water and realized it was floating the rear of the truck and the tires were no longer touching the ramp. The truck was still going backwards. I jumped back into the bed and waded to the boat, got in it and reached down and popped the winch loose and the nose of the boat shot up as I sat and watched the truck go under the boat and disappear into the water under me. It was a sick feeling. That truck rolled about 75 ft down the ramp before it stopped. This happened about 10pm at night in late February and the water temp was 52. The only wrecker I could get to come out there said he would come but I had to do the swimming! It was frickin cold but we got it out. The really sickening part was that I had just paid off the truck and had the wife cancel our full coverage ins to save some money and the whole time that's all I could think about. Luckily when I got home I found out that she was smart enough to keep the comprehensive which ended up covering it. Sometimes wives are good to have around!

We saw that right after they pulled it out we were driving by, then as we were pulling into the back of the discharge area we saw something floating with a man swimming next to it. We towed him and his sail board back to the shore. the bolts broke on his guide rudder.
