To all of you anglers who use nothing but artificial baits. How many different baits (Lures/Soft Plastics) do you use on a typical one day fishing trip?

When using spinning gear I usually use between Six to Ten different lures or soft plastics! When using my fly rod it's a whole different story. woot

I mainly use live worms all the time. On the few rare occasions when I use lures or artificial bait,I usually change baits one to five times. I do not carry many lures or artificial baits with me while fishing. thumb

I use maybe 3 when fishing for bass...Culprit worms, a jerk bait & a rattle trap type bait. Jigs for crappie & mostly night crawlers for sunnies. About the only exception for sunnies is when the mayfly hatch is in progress...you can wear em out on small spinners like Mepps...

For bluegill, I have a small collection of 2" grubs and paddle tails. Color selection is the most important thing. It takes a lot of tries to dial it in.

I have boxes full of artificials that I don't use. Here is my most used arsenal of lures: 1. Curly tail grubs 2. Two models of Rapalas (SR 5's and CD7's) 3. Spoons. Both casting type and jigging type. Super Dupers are a class of spoon to me. In salt water the lure types don't change much but the sizes go up. During the rainbow season that is now ending I used 2 Super Duper lures. I lost one and tied and retied the second one numerous times. During a typical day of fishing I change lures zero to three times.

Depends on if I already know whats working or not. Ive started with a jig and caught fish all day and I have had 15 rods out and struggled to get anything to work. I would say more often than not One to Five will cover me. I can almost always do some damage with one of these. jig, t-rigged plastic usually a craw or creature style bait, t-rigged plastic grubs, spinnerbait, shallow crankbait, and a tube.

I don't get to fish often enough for bluegill to mess around and not bring night crawlers. I use small 1/64th feather and chenille jigs and these things called worm rival spins as far as artificial lures go. Nothing beats night crawlers or crickets for bluegill in general, my opinion.

I mostly use light ball head jigs with different soft plastics - many of which were modified or produced from molds I own. It's not that any one lure usually works best ( there isn't one), but the challenge and excitement discovering the sheer variety of lure designs and colors fish will bite on an outing.

I typically will be in the 1-5 range myself as well. Heck, if Ive changed to 5 different plastics and/or lures, its either been a really good day or a really rough day. I dont consider changing color a change, just profile.

1-5. Usually just one. I throw a size 14 Prince Nymph on a 5 weight fly rod and really do well. If they're not hitting the Nymph I'll switch to a size 14 Stimulator. Once in a great while I'll bump up to something like a size 10 fly if absolutely necessary. For me, the fly rod is the way to go for panfish.

I'm not a chick.

Great pole. I kind of figured bait changes would be in the 1 to 5 range.
