Going fishing for the second half of spring break (March 12-16) and haven't decided where. Both are gonna be a 7 hour plus drive so any info/opinions are appreciated. Don't wanna get stuck in the wrong place.

Thanks and gig 'em

Rayburn is my favorite lake and it is fishing better. Amistad is beautiful, will be much, much less crowded, and has smallmouth. I'd go to Big Blue. jmho

Weather forecast for Rayburn is not good - rain and another front at the end of the week. If the trip is only about the fish, Id say Rayburn. If you want a more relaxing trip, Id say Amistad. Good luck and safe travels.

Thanks for the replies, falcon is a little out of range for this trip. Been to Amistad a few times also, looks like it the safe bet.

Better get you a place to stay, everything is booked up around Amistad right now cause of a pipeline going thru near by.

My in-laws live in Del Rio so lodging is never an issue for me. Timing seems to be my problem. Weather man must know my work schedule.
