Hi I was wondering if there is a catfish club in the Tyler area and if not is there interest in starting one

I'd be interested as well to meet some like minded individuals. I know others that would be as well, but we all work shift work. Saturday tournaments would rule us out.

Just found it, had to search under groups.

I work a 24 on 48 off schedule like a lot of EMS and FD schedules. Most people are off on the weekends and Saturday tournaments make the most sense. I would have to work every 3rd Saturday with my schedule. I have seen bass clubs that allow you a span of several days to fish the tournament, but that also allows people to pick the day with the best conditions and that can give them an edge. One day tournaments level the playing field, but it eliminates some people from being able to compete. Just food for thought.

I put in my request to join the facebook group. I know Ive never posted here or anything but Ive been reading what you guys talk about and such. i do a lot of trotline runs out on palestine. Havent been much last year because my wife had a baby but Im going to start going again soon. Nice to see people still catching good fish!!

As a catfisherman, I can attest that we don't join clubs. When you get a bunch of us together for a club meeting, the residual bait smell is just too much for anyone. As a result, I am a member of the Williams Creek Crappie Club at Fork whose members don't have a BO problem. I don't attend meetings afraid they'll kick me out.
