It should be easy enough to make a mold for the phish stick. Here is the shape. Make a cut in the side, don't use anything to soften the plastic and you've got it!

It isn't the phish stick that I'm interested in.

OK, so how did JSpain do with Phantom Tackle?
I think he owns/works with Bonehead tackle If I remember correctly, they bought some of the Phantom and KickerFish molds when those companies stopped production You can see the hightail lizards on their website and their ringed rascal is carried by Barlows

Looked like a kids bathtub toy but I heard of guys catching fish on them....many years ago. Basically a weedless soft plastic Zara Spook. Walk The Dog through the thick stuff...if you can find them anymore.

Ken I still remember Kent C. suburban having boxes of those and lizards all melted together. We'd just pull 'em apart and use 'em regardless and they'd still catch fish. Great Memories....

First time I ever saw them was in a tank demonstration at the Dallas Boat Show back in the 90's. The action was so dang erratic that I think every Bass in the tank bit the darn thing out of reaction more than anything else. Shortly after I bought some and had great luck on them. Don't know why I quit throwing them. I am sure I still have some in my stash somewhere. Might go lookin for them when it warms up.

Used to love those baits. See about making them a little softer. The hook up ratio was always dicey. The first ones were too hard. I would take my knife and make a small slit all the way through the bait to help get the hook through it on the hookset and even then I would miss fish occasionally. After they addressed the issue they were perfect. I always threw them on braid with a 5/0 Gammy round bend hook. They tended to ball up on the hookset if you used an EWG. The Baby Phishstick was awesome too. Yum came out with their version calling it a Money Hound but it was too big in diameter. I knew when I saw it that it was too fat. You would need a 9/0 hook and a sledge hammer to get the fish pegged. LOL The smaller one looked pretty good. That's crazy, Ken. We used to do the same thing. Break out the knife. Those things were as hard of bait as there was on the market for a plastic. They changed them up well. I've had an experience throwing the Phishstick like I've never had before. One day a buddy and I were fishing Sooner Lake north of Stillwater and we would reel it as fast as you could across the top of the grass and those fish would go airborn trying to eat it. You could not get bit at all if it were moved slow or deadstick. You had to rip it as fast as you could reel One of the funnest days I've ever had, fishing. Our biggest that day was 9lbs, and we prolly caught 20 good ones from 3-5lbs. I think a phenomenal color would be watermelon candy of some sort; albeit, that's my favorite plastic color. I'm a little biased with that suggestion. Thats really cool Tom. WM Candy would be awesome. The soft plastic Slug-Go copy they made was called the Slither. Great bait.

I still have some of the original Phish Stiks. Kind of a clear pearl with black, white and blue flake in it. I can't recall having a problem with hook ups due to the hook slot. I always kept the hook point exposed and laying down in that slot. Caught a ton of fish on them at Lakes of Danbury and a 20 ac. private lake I leased and managed outside Mount Pleasant for years.

7.5 INCH RINGED RASCAL IN ELECTRIC BLUE/BUBBLEGUM LAMINATE WAS ALL YOU NEEDED ON RICHLAND CHAMBERS BACK IN THE EARLY 90'S. ALSO THE FISHERMANS CHOICE CRAW WORM THAT WAS GREENISH WITH ORANGE PINCHERS FROM WALMART WERE KILLER ALSO. THE GOOD OL DAYS.
