i've been using salvo's crawfish boil for yrs but lately it seems a 4lb batch has about 3lbs of salt in it.it's the same with all the other seasonings,does anyone know of a low salt crawfish boil.or your own recipe

no just looking for a good crawfish seasoning that doesn't make me O.D. on salt.....Zataran�s liquid. is the equivalant to drinking coors light and calling it beer.. sorry cast

There�s no salt in Zataran�s liquid, just spicy goodness. I don�t do crawfish so I could be out in the weeds.

I've been wanting to do this for a while but they were all sold out of crawfish when we were down there this weekend.

Boil:
1 1/2 c zatarains
1/2 cup fish sauce
2 large lemongrass stalks smashed
2 - 3 lemons cut
2 heads garlic cut

After you boil and drain, then toss in this butter sauce
2 cups butter
1/2 cup chopped garlic
2 teaspoons (ish) cayenne
juice of 2 lemons

Have you tried Old Bay? I find the same thing with the fish fry mixes. They are all too salty. I mix them 50-50 with corn meal and add some Tony Catche(whatever).
