Does anyone have experience with the on board battery jumper system call Tournament Saver Pro?

Thanks

Ken Smith, Ken Smith Fishing dot com, was talking about adding one to his Ranger next trip to the dealer.

I'm not sure if he ever did or not but you could email him and ask. cheers

I added one after some battery issues in the past where I got stranded at the end of a tournament. Really easy to install, fortunately I have not needed to use it yet.

I had the dealership add one on when they fixed my electrical gremlins. I like it, especially being able to fully turn off all power to everything. I had to use it already and it worked great. Replaced that bad cranking battery after that and things are working perfect now.

Ranger and Nitro any maybe some others include a cut over switch on their boats, however the nice thing about the TSP is that you can do it without having to get back into the bilge area - hit the button, start, release the button, everything goes back to normal, all from the cockpit vs opening bilge compartment, flipping switch, back to console to start, back to bilge to move switch back to normal, back to cockpit... etc. Whether that's worth $100 over the stock systems is up to the consumer. If you don't already have a oem switch setup, then yeah imo it is worth it for sure.

Cant justify the cost of a divice which does the same job as jumper cables. If the starting batteries die more often than once a year that money should be invested in better batteries.

I've had one ever since they came out. I keep moving it from boat to boat. It is a life saver.
I have fished as a non boater in the Costa series. You can't believe the number of "Pros" that have had to stop fishing and get out jumper cables or switch battery cables. I've told them about the Saver Pro, but like most things, what does a non boater know?

A good jump starter with its own battery is 150 or so, 100 dollars less than this device.
You also have to rely on the trolling motor battery in this setup. With a jump starter you have to pull out the cables and attach them to the battery so it takes longer.
You also have the advantage in the jump starter of using it on a different vehicle. Another boat on the lake or your truck.

I have had a Tournament Saver Pro on my last two boats and over the last 6 years have used it twice. Both times were when cranking up to make weighin times. Running three graphs, and two live well pumps all day drains the main engine battery. It is definitely satisfying to know all you have to do is press a button, hear the click, and start the engine and away you go!
