After 28 years of hard work in my career field got a promotion and was lucky enough to have most of my family tag along for the big day.

I was in school the entire month of January and first part of February so we missed out on some good fishing from what I am told.

Dad, Mom, and I got back after the Crappie on Sunday which was our first day on the water since December 18th.

We hit Fork and caught a grand total of 5 fish. Needless to say that was not what we were hoping for our first day back.

We hit Tawokini and got a Double Limit on Tuesday and another Double limit on Wednesday.

They made us work for them both days, but yesterday was a real grind. No doubt the weather was jacking with them.

We cleaned the first batch so we got the nice pics in the backyard. The 50 from Tawokini on Tuesday plus the 5 from Fork on Sunday. Check out some of the bellies.

Yesterday there was a father son couple that had been working all day that stopped by the boat ramp to see what was going on.

After chatting them up we realized they were wanting some fish and we decided to give them all of our fish. All 50 of them.

We dumped them right out of our cooler on ice and into their pick up truck bed.

We love helping people out when we can. Paying it forward.

They were extremely grateful.

We are hitting the water again tomorrow.

15-20 Feet. Purple Body with a Yellow Tail hand tied jigs are what worked for us.

Some were very close to spawning. Warmest water we found was 53.

Water on Fork was like Ice Tea. 50 degree water temp.

We are not sure where we are going tomorrow.

Just wanted to share.

Congrats on a couple of good fishing days! Glad to see you back and catching them. Fork is skunking most people I talk too right now! The good news is that it can get much better soon! popcorn

congratulations, another person who has learned they spawn when they want, and where they want, regardless of water temp . most dont spawn near the bank either, its the small immature males that go to the bank. some of those fish have eggs dribbling out of them,.. they are spawning where you caught them.
Most people miss the spawn because they are waiting for 60 plus degree water temp and fishing near the banks, that is one of the long standing myths of crappie fishing. when the small males start getting near the banks, its the start of the end.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Congratulations on the promotion. Good family time. Great fish. Nice give away, great paying it forward. Good thing you do not live west of Ft Worth. Ain't much happening out towards PK with the crappie.
