I have been trying to get an extra spool so I can put floating line on one and sink tip on the other but I have found out that Cabelas no longer sells the extra spools. I called a place they told me might have them and they only have the model 3. I own a model 2. Does anyone have any suggestions or know if it is even possible to get one without shelling out $100 for a whole new reel?

Search eBay. You may end up buying a complete reel to get the spool and use the rest of the reel as spare parts.

I checked everywhere and I would not want to pay $80 for the spool when I can get an entire reel for less. On that note, are there any low end reels that are good for the money?

Piscifun Sword is about $45-50. What are you doing with reel? Most of the time, the drag doesnt even come into play.

Smurfs has a nice Cheeky Tyro 350 for sale in the classifieds for $100. The Orvis clearwater is on sale for $59 on Orvis's website as well.

I would suggest checking on Amazon among the Piscifun or Maxcatch reels. For considerably less money than Cabela's is charging, you can get a reel that is at least equal if not better in quality. In most cases when you are buying a Cabela's or White River reel, you are getting a reel made in China, with an additional layer of markup.

Heres the 3/4 piscifun sword. Machined 6061 Aluminium and anodized. Feels tight, drag is strong. I wouldnt hesitate using it on a 28 redfish or a large grass carp. I think they are $49 on the piscifun website. I have a RLS +2 in the next size up. Nothing wrong with it. The Piscifun sword seems just as well built. I havent used the Sword yet. Waiting to find a deal on fly line.

I can back Piscifun reels as well. Great reel for the price. Did a couple of videos, one review and one field tested in Louisiana.
Good luck!

Check out Orvis Reels online . I would suggest selling the RLS reel and buying either the Clearwater Large Arbor reel for reduced price and buy and extra spool for $49.00 https://www.orvis.com/p/clearwater-large-arbor-reels/2s53or get a Batten Kill and buy an extra spool : https://www.orvis.com/p/battenkill-fly-reels/7h9pI have a Cabelas RLS+ but not and extra pool but I have a Sage VXP with an Orvis older Batten Kill reel I got at discontinued price back a couple years ago so I take both fishing and use either one . Got to admit tho I really like the RLS+ !
