The deadsticking bite is still on at fort phantom hill. Finally got to get out in this past beautiful Tuesday. Fish were a little finicky with a lot of missed strikes. Live shad is starting to be productive and should continue to be more and more productive as water warms up. To catch shad you must use a large cast net such as a 7ft radius/14 foot diameter net with extra rope tied to the mainline to allow it to sink deeper. Near Johnson park has been a general consistent spot for hybrids all winter.

Tight lines!

Look for shad to thin out and that is where you want to fish.

Are you catching them suspended or off the bottom?

Wes! How you doing man? Back in business!?

I have almost always caught them suspended the entire winter other than a few trips they were bottom hugging. They have been usually 20-30 feet down. I always look at my 2D sonar to tell me where they are in the water column once spotlocked over the fish I found on SI

Look at all of those bright returns from SI, hybrids and more hybrids. Good to see you back in the boat Clay. Solid report .
