Do you think a boat can be too bright and affect the fish around the boat? It’s just something I wonder about sometimes when I see some of these crazy bright and sparkly colors on boats these days

Not if they think its a big shiny lure. Then they just jump in the boat! thumb

They say the red boats are really hard for bass to see but they make the bass really angry if they do see it or maybe they are angry because they can’t see the red boats. crazy

Well Skeet had yellow boats and did good. Martins had purple boats and did good. Denny had blue. KVD ran red a lot and well... I don’t think color matters too much.

If manufacturers thought that they would make some shad colored but I think most, including myself, buy boats that are purty.

I prefer a dark colored hull vs. light. Doubt it makes any difference to the fish.

Zero difference in my opinion. They know the presence of a boat near them regardless of color.

I’m thinking if they can see your bait then they aren’t gonna miss a 21’x8’ floating object going by regardless of color.

As the owner of a bright yellow boat, it makes no difference to the fish. I've done quite well out of mine.

I've blamed the wind, the moon, the heat...the cold, my partner...but never the color of my boat. May have to add that one to my list of excuses.

I am very skeptical of metal flake anywhere below the gunnel. On a sunny day I have seen them deflect sunlight on the bottom of the lake so much that it looked like a disco ball dancing around. I can't believe that would be anything but a negative on fishing.

Red boats also seem to catch slightly less wind than others.

Silver flake is lightest flake of all.
