I have caught Sand bass in Walnut creek. Better though is Village creek where it runs through Kennedale on it's way to Lake Arlington.

I never found a true, peaking sand bass run off of Joe Pool. Either that, or I timed the locations poorly. I have caught some off Walnut Creek and 2 others, but never anything like at other runs though. Sucks, because it's nearby and it's one more run to take a little fish from, and that keeps you from taking more fish from any one given run or the others. Well, me, at least. I'd rather take a single limit from several spots than multiple limits from one spot or a few. Release the rest for others to enjoy and to keep the run populations going strong for years to come. Maybe somebody else knows something I don't know. If they do, be sure to share it with me lol
