Flounder gigging has been very good over the last 3 nights. Temperatures were very warm for February, in the low 70's, making it comfortable on the water. Dense fog and high winds made things tricky each night, and water clarity was good in most areas. Most of the flounder have been holding on hard sand bottom, with a few fish coming off oyster shell. The flounder have all been in the 14-17" range, typical for February. Fish size should increase into March and April as the larger spawning fish return from the Gulf. Gigging should remain good during warm weather periods, with cold-snaps slowing down the fishing for a few days.

I had new customer Pat N. group of 6 onboard tonight. Conditions were nice, with SE wind at 5mph, normal tide levels, and crazy dense fog. We found scattered groups of flounder on every stop we made, but we had to cover a ton of water to locate them. We ended with a 30 flounder limit by 11:45pm.

I had longtime customer Ed F. group of 5 onboard tonight. Conditions were marginal, with SE wind at 10-15mph, normal tide levels, and blowing fog. We got a fast start, getting 6 fish in the first 20 minutes. After that, the action went dead for 2 hours and several stops. We eventually located some better fishing later in the night, but it wasn't quite enough to finish our limit before the group decided to head in. We ended with 21 flounder plus 1 black drum by midnight.

I had longtime customer Dennis R. group of 2 onboard tonight. Conditions were poor, with SE wind at 20-25mph, normal tide levels, and patchy blowing fog. It only took 2 stops to find the fish tonight, and despite the gusty winds, water clarity was excellent. We ended with a 10 flounder limit plus 1 black drum by 8:30pm.

Upcoming open dates:
February: 12-14, 18-21, 24-28
March: 3-5, 8, 9, 13, 17-21, 24-26, 31
April: 1-4, 7-11, 15-20, 22-25, 28-30

Price: $450 for 2 people, $100 each additional person, up to 6 people

Nice fish! What are you using to catch the flounder?

GIG'EM. My dad used to walk the beaches at night with a high powered flash light and a mop handle with sharpened nail in the end of it. Flounder taste like candy. UMMMM good.
