Interesting that this happened today. As yall know Im at the lake house cleaning it up to make it my house again after mom and dad passed. Today we cleaned out Moms office. My sister, the local family historian was sorting stuff. She gave me a bag of paper to burn so I spent time at the fire pit today. Anyhow tonite before dinner she brought forth her findings. Remember, this is Moms office.

Mom was an Arkansas Brazil, or so we thought. Turn out that grampa Brazil was a Texan from Taylor. That was the first surprise.

The second surprise...

The Brazils immagrated from Ireland. They were then known as Braswell. They were seafarers, good Navy men, like me. Brea is a hill or slope, well is a spring. Anyhow, Moms papers say that a man, Eremon, supposedly a legendary figure, in 335 B.C. sailed from Spain to Ireland to plant the Brazil clan. The Brazils flourished, and in about the year 500, a member of the clan called Brendan went on a seven year voyage and visited the new world. In the year 800 the Brazil clan left Ireland bound for the new world. Her docs said they came to America, didnt say which one, and gathered dye products and returned to Ireland to market dyes. Ancient records confirmed the Brazil clan named many dyes. It is noted that later the clan Brazil sailed to South America to explore for more dye products. They discovered more of the same products and returned to market them in Ireland. The South America they got there dye products from was given the name Braezeale, the ancient spelling of Braswell. That name eventually evolved into the modern name Brazil.

Im not lying or drunk, yet. This is from Moms personal papers. I had never seen them before. BUT, mom didnt cotton to BS.

I promise not to raise yalls taxes.

Weirdest deal. My great, great grandad walked on the moon a couple hundred years before Neil (or Lance) Armstrong.

We found the evidence on an old iPad that he had in the cellar.

All humans are descendants of the same man and woman who lived 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.

Our communal mom and dad got together after a catastrophic event almost wiped out the human race.

John Wesley Hardin dropped the Scagnetti part of his name when he got off the boat from Italy

My Viking ancestors were invading what is now Ireland in 800. The Irish were a bunch on spice traders with bad breath.
