Had an awesome 3 hours on the river yesterday afternoon. It was very muddy putting in and chilly to say the least but, the whites were ready and willing to feed my family.
I couldnt get out until after 3 and was worried it would be packed but there was just a handful of kayaks and a few bank fishing. It was mostly cloudy and occasionally the sun would pop out but not often. The water had a decent current and was much clearer than Id thought it would be. A fisherman leaving said they were skunked up river so I went towards the lake no more than a half mile paddle. I spent my time there trolling a couple small diving jigs for almost three hours. Bright green ended up the winner with 14 whites and 16 total. I didnt count exactly but at least 10 were fat females. My mom grew up fishing with her dad and she cant go anymore so tried making a video for her. I hope its decent. I also hope to get on the San Gabriel next weekend.
