Ive got two gen 3 Revo STX with what appears to be a common problem. Occasionally after casting the spool wont engage. One is getting worse than the other. There doesnt appear to be a specific solution as it can be a couple things. What does one expect to pay for this type of repair? Hard to spend $50 to repair a reel worth $80-100.

Sounds like they may just need a good cleaning.

Thank you,

Clean it first and have them repaired if that doesnt work. Reels wont be worth $80-$100 in the current condition. Maybe $30-$40 otherwise.

If its the nylon clutch part I am thinking of that is worn you can replace it yourself for about $2.I have done 2 of the revo rockets that would not engage and this nylon part was the culprit in both.

Turned out that the yoke was caked with grease. Just cleaned and all reels are good as new. Apparently you should break your reel down every 5 years or so.
