I shipped off my Helix 10 a week ago after many phone calls to Humminbird about various issues. I spoke to a tech on weds and was informed they deleted all software from day 1 and re-installed all new software and tested it. They even tried a different transducer just to rule that out. Well Mr. UPS dropped it off late yesterday with a new transducer and rubber cover. Im anxious about putting it back on the boat with the new transducer to see just how great it works now. Ive never had a decent picture with it since day 1. So Im hopping all my issues were transducer related.

Great job Humminbird

Good deal, hope the issue has been resolved. Knock on wood, I have always had a good experience with the Humminbird Customer service the handful of times I have had to use them.

Do t get too excited. I had a brand new unit fixed by them only to have the same exact issue within the first hour back on the water.

Finally climbed the CS ladder to get a new unit.

Sounds good....I'm in the process of an issue with Humminbird. But I'm letting Shut Up & Fish handle it since I bought the Helix7 from him. It's been sent in once and still has erratic depth reading issue. We're calling them again on Friday to see what their plan is this time. I would prefer a totally new unit but SU&F says it's usually the 3rd time for new replacement. Starting to grow tired of dealing with it but keeping my patience as of now.

Good luck with your new fix-me-up.

I feel your pain. Mine was having issues from day 1, I made more calls to Humminbird than I care to imagine. It was try this, try that and delete this plus redo my my updates. I had to transfer all my waypoints to an SD card, then delete them from the unit. I have a Y cable installed from shut up and fish with a thru Hull transducer too. I just hope it will finally work right. I still havent installed it yet, Id like a warmer day

Nope. Weve already did the update and still have erratic depth reading issue. Humminbird said that the update would fix the issue......wrong.

What software version are you running. 1.9 wasn't on the website till Late last week. 1.84 was supposed to fix it as well but for some it didn't. 1.9 seems to have solved the depth readings from most

Oh, ok. Our last version of software update was 1.84. Glad to know there is another update with 1.9. Hopefully, this will fix my problem. Im taking it in to Shut Up & Fish on Friday. He will be calling Humminbird about the Helix7 issue and then install another graph for me on the console. Fingers crossed and thanks for the info, 44Diesel.

Well I was (WAS) singing the praises of Humminbird, WAS being the key word here.... I took my Helix 10 to the boat, hooked it up, floated off the trailer into the marina to see if everything worked as it should.... As soon as the Ipilot link connected, it powered itself down. I tried it on the front of the boat where my Helix 9 sits and same results... So I turned the Ultrex off and it will work until I turn the the power to the Ultrex back on.

So I called Humminbird and after a 30 minute conversation, they are sending me a wall charger to me, so I can check the unit from a wall outlet. Then if that does not work, they will send me a pre-paid shipping label and it will go back for a second time....

All I want is a unit that works, is that asking too much?

At the moment the 1.83 I think? I personally did the 1.84 before I shipped it off and it came back with the 1.83. The new 1.9 is out as of 02-06-2019 and who I talked to at Humminbird said it would have all new software in it and all I have to do is hook it up and go...

I had a erratic depth reading on my old Hummingbird 898c.Checked everything I knew to check. Finally discovered by accident that if there was a little water down around the bilge pump the depth reading would work flawlessly. I started pouring a regularly bottle of water down by the bilge. I've never had anymore problem.. I believe that there is slightly loose transducer or a slight crack in the epoxy between the transducer and hull. The transducer won't penetrate air but it will go through epoxy and fiberglass. The water fills the empty space so it works. It's kinda crazy but it works. Untill I replace it.
