After many blanked sessions here, I began getting frustrated.

Many wasted days, wasted trips, wasted bait, and no fish to show for all of the effort.
Seriously almost a year had passed with well more than 6-8 sessions were spent blanking at this pond! hammer

I knew the potential of the pond, I knew of the notorious fish that inhabit this small body of water, and am well aware of their finicky nature.

Finally this Monday, with the weather on our side, we planned a session, and the pond produced a fish. With a large gallon can of hominy, corn, and Mainline Baits Stick Mix Liquid we baited heavily mid afternoon (4:00PM) and we waited. As the first hour passed without any action, we rebaited and waited. The fish started swimming through closer to sunset and started playing with the rods persistently around the pile of bait. Take after take until finally, a screaming run.

I agree!

I'd have to say that the real catch is holding the fish! Congrats

Nice buff, Andrew. Glad your patience and persistence paid off.

Dam, Phil! That’s a monster!

Do I remember correctly you saying something about ice out where you live? Just how far north are ya?
