ANNOUNCEMENT OF
First Annual Cedar Creek White Bass Tournament
In Association with Cedar Creek white bass specialists DENNIS CHRISTIAN and GEORGE (FastGuy) MALIK and BIGCRAPPIE.COM GUIDE SERVICE

On May 18, 2019, the FIRST ANNUAL CEDAR CREEK VETERANS FOUNDATION (CCVF) white bass tournament will be held. It will be an individual tournament with categories for adults and children. Children ages eight to twelve may register in either the Childrens Division or the Adult Division but not both. If they register in the Adult Division, they will be required to pay the $50.00 adult registration fee. The location is Cedar Creek Lake at Log Cabin boat ramp and grounds.

In addition to promoting family fun through fishing and just being in the great outdoors, the HOOKED ON VETERANS white bass tournament is to raise money for CCVF. This is the organization which also supports the Cedar Creek community and raises money through the annual 4th Of July Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Air Show. CCVFs mission is to honor the courageous men and women who have served to protect our freedoms by providing financial support for those agencies responsible for their care and nurture. The three beneficiaries supported by CCVF are Fisher House, Hope For The Warriors and Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. CCVF is a 501c3 and is led by an all-volunteer team of Board of Directors and Officers. All proceeds from their fundraisers go to support these charities.

In addition to the fishing tournament, we will have a free fish-fry meal for all contestants immediately following the weigh-in. We will have door prizes, an auction to add to the money raised and recognition of tournament winners starting as we finish our meal.

I invite all my TFF friends to enter. George, Chuck and I will be involved in organizing and carrying out the tournament. I will register so I can help folks in my boat find fish, but will not submit fish for weigh-in myself. Your comments between now and tournament day are welcome. This announcement will be kept at the top of the white bass/hybrid/striper section when we get closer to tournament date.

I'll have my son with me. Can you please confirm that the following questions will be omitted from the exam:
- Is Santa Claus Real?
- Is it true the Tooth Fairy will not come if you don't brush your teeth?
laugh

I haven't fished Cedar Creek in years. And would welcome the reason to travel there and fish again.
I'm going to ask my Dad (42 years in the Army - Retired) and my Son (9 yr old) if they want to go. But logistically it will be tough. School is still in session and we would have to drive on a good bit of I-35 to get there. Leaving later in the afternoon on a Friday, having to drive on I-35 & through Austin, then a 0500 check-in Sat with a kid eeks But willing to give it a shot.

For future planning efforts, Just as an FYI, school gets out for the summer at the end of May, just 2-weeks later than when this tournament is planned. It might make a difference in getting more kids (at least the ones that are not local) to participate.

To those who didn't notice in the announcement, the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation (CCVF) is a 501c3 charity led by an all volunteer team. We are currently signing up sponsors who can help us with donated items for the auction or door prizes. We will recognize sponsors both at the auction, on this and other forums and when we post the results of the tournament. If you would like to be a sponsor, call me at 254-405-0271. Dennis

Great! Good luck! I won't be competing but will try to put 2 or 3 others in the boat with me on some good fish.
