thumb upper lake - lower river area.

Fished around the Nolan/Brazos area last week and located a ton of shad with a few stripers mixed in ( didn't catch any). The area I have been fishing has been loaded with unders but the bigger fish seemed to have moved in

I was out Sunday afternoon and got skunked. Seems I didn't run quite far enough up the main lake. Went just past cedar creek and then back down by the Katy bridge. My graph was giving me some problems so I spent more time looking than actually fishing. I really need an upgrade. Thanks for the info 44 Diesel and awesome screen shots!

They definitely will run up the Nolan, especially after a rain with runoff and the Nolan running high. Can be thick with them like that. You would need to run up river to Adair park site past white bluffs and further up. You used to be able to walk in where 933 crosses the creek, but they seem to have made it hard to get in there. I've seen the east bank lined with fishermen working the sandies in the past.

Fly rod and a clouser will out fish any thing conventional or live on the Nolan hands down. Some runs its not like that but Ive seen more people go get a fly rod after seeing it than anywhere. I think it may be the only place in Texas with more fly fishermen than conventional guys.
