Well put in a little walk today and found a bunch of carp rooting around. Drew quite the crowd from the trail four or five people stopped to video the battle. I only had five x and was on a cut bank. I finally got it walked down far enough I could get down to the water. One of the onlookers was nice enough to come down and snap a pic.

Thanks guys! Yes the color on that one were spectacular very bright! Targeted two that were much bigger with no takes. Ton of fish in the 3-4 pound range rooting around though. Heck with little stocker trout lol

Yep, I'd rather catch one of those any day over those stocker trout.

Nice looking fish! Do you see a lot of other folks fishing on these urban excursions or just trail walkers/runners? I dont live or work in a city so I wonder how this urban fishing goes.

Nice job Robert. Those things hit like a freight train. I'm usually fishing with 6 lb. line when I run into them. I believe I've been broken off more times than I have actually caught them. I found a community lake with some monsters in it this summer. I put on 12 lb. test and they still broke me off. Small mouth bass, hybrids and carp are on top of my list for great fighting freshwater fish.

Hey j-moe that fish was on five x as I was fishing for stocker trout was a real battle. we need to get on the fish together again Ive got a few spots producing some really nice fish right now You got it butch its loaded with carp all the way to Dallas. With as good as the river got scoered out from the floods you can walk the trail and spot mud blooms. Just dont forget a good pair of polarized glasses. The carp are running around in schools of 10-20 fish right now. Capt mac has a really good beadless pattern he uses it has a lot of craw color in it. The bugger that fish was on was forest green body with rusty red tail similar to it. Get a soft landing right in their path when feeding and they will eat. We catch a ton on clousers during the sandbass run. They will actively attack then more than any othe time Ive found. I saw two pushing the teen mark they were just cruising though. I dont target cruising fish till the sandbass run is full blown though. Good luck
