After about a three week delay, Blue Hole Park in Georgetown got rainbows stocked today. The bite began shortly after the fish were introduced to the beautiful San Gabriel River. The only fish that we kept were deep hooked. All others were released for another day. Finally got to meet Banker Always Fishing and his friends from the San Antonio area. Just a terrific day in a great place.

Dick had a GREAT time and thanks for all of your accurate information you gave us. We caught a lot of fish and kept a few for the dinner table. We released most and kept four apiece. All of our fish were caught on Gold Super Duper Lures. It just don't get any better! fish

We did quite well with the gold SDL also. The last few minutes we were there, Jeff caught 3 in a row on the smallest Cast Master spoon I have ever seen! Everybody that sloshed out to where we were fishing wanted to know what we were using. I'll be back out there some time tomorrow!

Yes there are some guys fly fishing. There a lot of trees and at times, a lot of fisher people. Super Duper Lure Company even has a small version for the fly angler. It is model 500.

Thanks. I pulled up some videos about the Blue Hole and it looks very fly fishing friendly.

Caught 13 at the Blue Hole in about an hour and a half this afternoon. Usual spot with the usual equipment. Where I fish, you have to wear waterproof boots and have good balance! Air temp was 36-38 degrees? North wind 8-10 mph right in my face. Hands got cold so I came home. Not any deep hooked fish today so I released them all. The bite was very light and I just crawled th SDL. Great fun as usual.

Great post. Love post like these. Love seeing people enjoying fishing and the outdoors. How long will the trout bite keep up on the San Gabriel? Again great post.

The Blue Hole will be good for awhile. It was a little slower today. I managed a few on the SDL. Water was slick. No breeze. Water is super clear! Those fishing on the bottom with bait were doing good. Cold hands! Great time!

A sample of my catch at The Blue Hole this morning. Fish were very finicky. To catch fish, I had to use bait, a tiny hook, and a very light split shot.
