Do willows make good brushpiles?

Also what are some good tree species for good productivity

They will but don't seem to last too long. I don't know that any particular tree will produce better than another. I would focus on location of the pile instead. Some woods will last longer such as Bois d arc (osage orange) or cedar.

To whom much is given, much is required.

They make great piles and I prefer them or bamboo. Both last about 2 years but produce well and are easier to fish with less hang ups.

I like what ever is available around the bank... If your lake folks allow it, sure makes it easier.
