AMISTAD 2/08/19 - Water Temp mid 50s / Lake Level 23.83 low
Overall fishing is good. Stripers and whites are roaming lake wide with the majority schooled up 30-50ft. Past weeks weve caught several on A-rigs, spoons, and crankbaits. I wouldnt believe it if I hadnt seen it but we caught a few stripers on dropshot rigs and a couple on bass jigs in deep grass... Largemouth are scattered from 5ft to 65ft. The deeper grass 15-20ft has been the most consistent. Dropshot, jigs, A-rigs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and Tx rigs are all working. My favorite lately has been a 1/2oz - 3/4oz jig in deeper grass... For several weeks now, even though the water has been cold, Ive seen bass on beds and several cruising in select areas. One male was actually guarding fry in 50s degree water. Good thing I had witnesses in the boat.

DON MARTIN 2/08/19 - Last weekends tournament says it all. On the first day a 39lb limit was leading, 22lbs was 34th place, and a 14+ was BIG FISH! First place was over 60lbs. Recent tournament pictures on website. Lake is approx 2 1/2 hours from Del Rio into Mx. Day and overnight trips available. Call to discuss options.
