Headed to Ivey the last week of April. I haven't fish the lake in 20 years and just wondering if bass fishing is still good in the lake. I know it was really low for several years and now it's at about 50 percent of pool.
Anyone on here fish there much and can share any general information?
Thanks Guys!!

Lake is up 27 ft, I live here and have not been on the lake, I think it will be tough fishing for a while but could be wrong. Going to be hard to get back there to them, doesnt looks like the same lake.

I grew up in Sterling City, Texas and Lake Ivie was the place to go...
Lake was freakin awesome back then 1995-2000. Anyway, it always fished great in April. I might see you there. I'll be the guy in the Xpress that doesn't mind running through the brush to get where they are.

Been tough from what I've heard, that lake turns on later than most from what I've seen

I'm not an expert on Ivie, but late march or early april is when the lake should be starting to heat up with fish moving up and by the time you get there in late april, you'll probably find a mixture of prespawn, spawning and postspawn fish.

Love that lake, been a while since I've fished it too!

Couple of fish from the last time I fished it in March of 2012 during a two day tournament. Caught a 6.12 the next day with less than 10 minutes of fishing time that sealed the win for me and my buddy. That fish got tangled up in some deep roots twice and I got that fish out both times. That was pretty damn cool.

After our tourney ended, we were hanging around Elm Creek and talked to an older guy and his friend, very quiet and humble. The guy caught a 13+ and released it on the spot. Best fish of his life. That was pretty awesome. Didn't even really get a good picture of the fish and I guess it was just one of those things that wasn't really important to him.

Hope you have an awesome trip!
