Anyone have any experience with these lakes. I've seen some pictures of giants come out of there. I'm getting married next month and talked the old lady into possibly booking a day on the lake after the wedding. Just curious to see if anyone has any first hand experience there. Thinking of booking the cabin and renting the boat. What are the accomodations like, and boat setup? Is it worth the cost?

I've been on Camelot Belle twice... DO NOT pass up the opportunity to fish there. How good it is will depend greatly on the weather conditions, those fish are pure Florida so if you just say the word cold front they shut down. Hit on a decent day and you will have one of those trips you'll talk about for the rest of your life.

We stocked are 15 acre lake with Camelots when Overton Fishery had a partnership. ( Think that gene is Called Lonestar Legacy now) This June will be 4 yrs since stocking. I expect to catch a 10lb plus this spring. These guys fight like none other. But you are right about Cold Front. Just the words shut them down.

If you can do it go. The cabin is small but nice but for 2 people it's all you need. Mike is a good guy and will help you any way he can to catch a dd. His boat is all you need really. Big worms work real good out there but he doesnt really like Carolina rigs because people tend to gut hook fish on those. I hope to go back later this year.

Ive been twice and caught my largest bass ever (11 pounder) on the old lake. Have not been to the new lake. It def has giants in it. Its pricey and to me still nothing like fishing a large lake but its a neat experience that i was fortunate to have. i would go back. I think we had an 11,9 and 6 or 7 8 pounders. Lots of fish smaller then that too. Pretty neat place.

I killed a deer over there in November and Mike took us to the Wolfpack and fed the fish, needless to say we say true giants feeding and I have an invite to go and will take Mike up on it.

Big to very big fish!
Lots of fun- I saw no fences in the lake...!
Just go and have a great time!
Weather is as always key for big bass.

These lakes cycle like any other lakes. They have years they are on fire and years it's much tougher. Even on the worst years though the number of hours fished per DD is probably about as good as it gets any where in the world. People who call it high fence fishing are confused and mistaken. Fairly low visibility in the lakes. You can't see fish even if they are on beds. Not to mention a high fence deer can't choose whether or not to eat a bullet. You can put the lure right in front of a giant bass and more often than not you are not going to get bit. It takes the perfect combination of conditions and skill.

So is it worth it? That math is going to vary by the individual. You may get skunked or you may catch the biggest fish of your life. I've got to admit though it's super fun knowing every cast could well be that ONE bite you've been looking for your whole life!
