Two friends, David and Sam, fish with Dannie a few times a year, often on Ray Roberts, lately a time or two on PK. They went down and fished with him last week on Falcon. David caught a 10 lbs. 2 oz. fish that was 28" long I believe. Dannie told David that she had just dropped her eggs, might have been an 11 or 12 beforehand. And, the day before, Sam caught an 11 pounder.

I think David told me that they caught 40+ fish, something like that. Per day or for the whole trip, I am uncertain. Most were in the 3 to 5 lbs. range. Solid fish, tough fighters.

Water was described as clear in at least one spot they fished and the three of them spotted a huge bass at one point. David said they thought it was a 14 pounder or so, but no one could get it to bite. I think David said Sam had another giant on line that bit through his line, got off.

On another occasion where the water was very clear, Dannie dropped his rod tip down in the water vertically and scratched a bass on its back . . . before it spooked off.

When they got back to the launch, I believe David said some anglers had good days, some not so much.

There are times when it pays to pay a pro guide, I think! It seems to me David said that Golden goes down there for several weeks at a time with pre-arranged clients queued up and ready to fish by appointment. Sounds very cool to me!!!
