Just so we can watch heads explode !!!!! And I hope he does it use a spinning reel.
What technique do you think he will win it with?

Being in the top ten going in to the last day he commits to a Ned Rig and strikes out till last 15 min. An obvious giant jumps off at the boat, his head explodes, breaks every rod in the boat and talks bad about your momma.

As Mike grew up in South Philadelphia, you know he has grit, determination and a highly competitive nature. Some of his fellow pros could learn a thing or two from him.

He destroys the field on cranks and wire baits

Last time Combs beat him in the fish off at Conroe Ike wouldn't even come in until after dark. Broke some rods and pouted like a sore loser.

As he grew up in S. Philly; he learned all about BAD sportsmanship, and how to truly throw a fit that would make any four year old proud.....oh, and he also learned that if you call every fish you hook a giant, it makes folks like you even more than they already do...lol

He definitely needs to lay off the caffeine. He is a good fisherman but really hard to listen to while he is fishing and the whole its a giant no just a 2lber has gotten way to old!

I hope he is in contention up to the last hour , then he hooks a " giant " , at least 8 lbs , exactly what he needs to win , just as he is pulling hard to get it in the boat , the line breaks . The 8 lber flops back into the water and swims off , magically the jig flies up to his face , the 3/0 Trokar penetrates his lower lip and his upper lip at the same time . With his lips magically sealed , Ike can't speak clearly at all .
The tournament director tries to interview Ike --- and all we hear is " sajfnfhwycdc , cnbvbxnbauehgfnbsn , sajdshfhwuenxns !!!!

He's one of the most established professional fishermen in the world. He seems to be doing ok. Ever wonder why MLF invited him? He puts on a show, and has more people talking and thinking about him than all the other 79 combined right now. I don't think I will try to tell him how to go about his business. roflmao

Or he falls in backwards chasing the 1.1 pound giant around in circles.

I thing there's a reality show here. Adults trying to outdo other adults in throwing fits. Judges have to be under 5 years old. A padded cell and anger management classes for the winners.

I could be wrong, but I think Ike has been in contention for most of the TTBCs held on Conroe.

I think he takes The Stars and Stripes and cuts it up into SB skirts and jig trailers and catches his only fish, a "giant" 2.5 pounder, while dropping F bombs and cussing like a 13 year old at a camp-out sleepover at a young mom and her 2 preschoolers watching him from the bank.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

You got that right! However, we may want to buy some stock in googan baits. Scott Martin has a couple 9 pounders today on Toho.

I agree I'd rather see someone else win, but he's good on Conroe I figure he'll be close to the top of the leader board again.

I don't think it's a act at all. He's figured out that he can be the way he is and not have to act another way and it sells.

I agree after hearing some of the same things he's done when no cameras were around. He's passionate and I think most bass fisherman can appreciate that, me included. It's the tantrums, excessive cussing and rudeness that rubs me wrong.

The act is contrived.....all part of the game, that he apparently figured out to his own financial benefit.....I can tolerate him in small doses.......sometimes extremely small doses

I think Ike considers himself an entertainer as well as a professional angler. He's an entertainer when the cameras are running and an angler when they're off. He needs to work on his acting career and change the script cause he's acting in a G rated movie. The kids parents are getting annoyed at his profanity while on stage. Learning to express yourself without using profanity is a talent in itself and most professional anglers have mastered it. Learn from them Ike, your sponsors will approve. thumb

I would rather be around someone that is unfiltered at times, and is real in the moment; than someone who takes time to think about it and be calculating in their words to speak ill of others

Hope it keeps working out for him....
I don't hate the guy. But I do live in the corporate world. And the bottom line is you are great until you start costing instead of making someone money. As long as he stays on the right side of that line, he's good. He just dances right down that ragged edge....

Luckily there are more options than the two extremes you show here. I prefer the unfiltered and real while still being classy. The one that does not have to take time to think and calculate their words but still say the right things.

I think we are saying the same thing overall. Filters are good, but ones that have time to think say the positive or right (good) things. It is so easy to judge people, and social media is creating a judge mental world of hate. I see my kids deal with it, and I see the simplest posts or thoughts get bashed bc everyone wants to be better than everyone over being the best they can be. It is easy to judge, but it isnt our job. My judge , is who I praise

Ike said he was ready to go home. Tucked his tail and just went home. I was hoping for him to win just to Watch heads explode.

I drove all the way to Texas to fish this tourney, BUT I am just ready to go home.... Interesting.

He's a good fisherman, he will definitely be up top in the future again like it or not.

Some guys they like him in spite of his loud, immature antics because it's all part of his contrived on-the-water persona. Others say they like him because of his honest, unfiltered approach. It's like they are talking about two completely different dudes...but I can't respect either version.

Even though I don't like his conduct on the water he is a good stick and he is very good in his explanations of techniques. He is very articulate and is easy to understand in informative Bass fishing topics. If he could tone it down a little on the water and retain the class and composure he shows in the informative area he would be liked by almost everyone. It's too bad that it's his on the water conduct that detracts from his professionalism.

I'm not a fan of his either. I could be but the screaming every time he boats a "giant dink" is very annoying. The mute button on my remote can't take it anymore. 2cents

I am glad to see this post . I will admit that my previous post's were tough on him . But , as a man of God , I believe in forgiveness . Let's hope that Ike can make the needed changes in his life , for his family , his career and to the benefit of thousands that watch him perform his job . As my dad told me when I was young , "talk is cheap and change is difficult" , but if Ike can truly be a positive stand up guy , I will be the first to cheer his success .
