While fishing the SE Texas Catfish Trails first tournament on lake Conroe Saturday my teammate Morris caught a 67 lb. Bluecat and is the pending new water body record for rod and reel on Lake Conroe. It was a great honor to net the fish . Once on board and in the live well that was crowded with 5 fish we made the call to take the fish in to the weigh in site that had a pool set up with oxygen to preserve the health of the fish .The fish stayed in great shape and was weighed on a certified scale at 67.00 Pounds . We were hoping cutting our fishing time down by two hours didn't cost us but it was worth the gamble to keep the fish healthy.Check out Texas Trophy Catfish Association on Facebook for more pic and videos.
We ended up winning the tournament by 6 pounds and all fish were released healthy to complete an awesome day.

It is official my buddy Morris Taymon now holds the Lake Conroe rod and reel and catch and release records.
Lake Conroe is an awesome Blue Cat fisherie and I am sure this record will be broke again .
There is now a certified weigh station at Walden Marina.
I hope in the near future we see more regulation to protect these trophy fish.
